Matt Addison is the founder of Addison Law Group PLLC and a veteran Nevada commercial litigator with more than three decades of experience representing businesses in complex construction and commercial disputes. A lifelong Reno resident, Matt has built his practice around disciplined litigation strategy, practical judgment, and long-standing client relationships. Before founding Addison Law Group, he spent more than 30 years at one of Nevada’s original law firms, including eight years as Managing Partner of its Reno office, giving him deep familiarity with the legal and business landscape of Northern Nevada.

Construction law is a central part of Matt’s practice. He has represented owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, and major suppliers in matters involving project disputes, delay and disruption claims, changed conditions, construction defects, payment conflicts, mechanics’ liens, bond claims, procurement disputes, and other complex project litigation. His work also includes advising clients on supply agreements and key contractual provisions involving indemnity, performance standards, termination rights, and allocation of commercial risk. This experience across multiple levels of the construction process allows him to approach disputes with a practical understanding of both contractual obligations and the commercial realities affecting projects.

Matt regularly represents clients in mediation, arbitration, negotiated resolutions, trials, and appeals, and has argued before the Nevada Supreme Court. He is also increasingly engaged by lawyers and parties in Nevada and Northern California to serve as a private mediator and arbitrator in construction and commercial disputes, where he emphasizes efficient administration, focused presentations, and prompt decision-making. Beyond construction, Matt maintains a broad commercial litigation practice involving breach of contract, business torts, shareholder disputes, property damage, products liability, and other high-exposure and multi-party matters.

Addison Law Group PLLC was founded to provide experienced, senior-level litigation counsel without unnecessary layers or inefficiency. Clients work directly with Matt, and matters are evaluated early with an emphasis on clear communication, thorough preparation, and strategies aligned with the client’s business objectives. Matt has also served in several judicial and quasi-judicial roles, including as an Administrative Law Judge for the Nevada State Contractors’ Board, Judge Pro Tem for the Reno Municipal Court, and Settlement Judge Pro Tem for the El Dorado County Superior Court. He holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has received multiple Best Lawyers in America “Lawyer of the Year” honors for Construction Law and Construction Litigation. He has also been recognized in Commercial Litigation, Construction Law, and Arbitration and is a Fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America, as well as a former President of both the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern Nevada and the Washoe County Bar Association.
